more 4th of July memories...

Not all pictures turn out the way you want them to... after the parade, swimming at the club, and a nice afternoon nap for all, we headed up to the George Bush Presidential Library. I thought I would capture a great 4th of July picture of Colby and Holden sitting on the fountain in front of the library but...no. The fountain was hot on their legs and the sun was shining directly in their eyes. Needless to say, they weren't too happy with mom!
Posing for a quick picture with Uncle Sam!
Mike got the kiddos glow-in-the-dark necklaces to wear. Here they are on the Aggie Bus riding back from the library to our car to watch the fireworks!
Watching the fabulous fireworks over the library from the back of dad's truck. It was a great day!

Celebrating the 4th of July!

We began our 4th of July bright and early at the 2nd annual Pebble Creek 4th on the Creek parade. You would have thought it was Christmas morning by the way that Colby ran into our room shouting, "Wake up, mom! It's the 4th of July!". We had spent most of the week getting ready for the parade. We spent one day washing the gator and Colby's bike, another getting our decorations all ready, and then Thursday night we decorated the vehicles!
Colby was making a fashion statement with his big red sunglasses and Holden was the 4th of July princess. She had a crown and a wand with red, white, and blue streamers!
When we got to the staging area for the parade, we had to wait for about 30 minutes before the parade started. When we asked Colby if he was going to ride next to Holden he informed us that, "No, I'm going to go by myself" and pretty much that was the last time we saw him! Holden on the other hand, wouldn't even get out of her gator, much less go somewhere by herself!
The College Station fire department led the parade with an ambulance and fire truck but by the time the parade was coming back up the street, Colby was on the sidewalk ahead of the ambulance! I guess things were just going too slow for Colby!
My mom got us this sign made! It turned out really cute on the back of Holden's gator!
Nothing beats a snow cone for breakfast! Happy 4th of July!

Kennedy's my best friend!

Holden LOVES her Kennedy. She is constantly walking around with her arms draped around Kennedy - which, if you know Holden, is a huge compliment towards Kennedy. Holden doesn't freely give hugs so Kennedy has no idea how lucky she is!

Big Girl!

Holden has finally decided that she can peddle her own bike! Until now, she has only wanted to ride her bike if someone would push her. While Colby was out of town, she gained lots more independence and is now wanting to ride her bike up and down the street. She's doing great!
