Holden and her first set of golf clubs!

Mike got Holden her fist set of golf clubs this past Saturday. She looks so cute carrying them around. In case your wondering what she is holding in her hands - it's play-doh. Hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow so that she and Mike can go test out her clubs. Colby and I have school/work but Mike and Holden are off for Labor Day - no fair!

Aggie Game Day

One of the best things about Aggie game days are running into friends. Holden ran in to her friend Nolan, who is just 4 days younger than she is. She kindly refers to him as "No-No"!
It's been quite a few months since the kids have been immersed in Aggie culture but it quickly came back to them! As the Spirit of Aggieland (the school song for you non-Aggies!) Holden stood up and proudly put her hand over her heart! Of course, it wasn't the National Anthem but it just goes to show you how proud she is of A&M! Other times during the game she would just stand there with her Gig 'em thumb up! Too cute!
Introducing the new Reveille!
Colby really loved the flyover by the F-16's! During the 3rd quarter when the pilots are introduced, they walk right by our seats. They high five all the kiddos and Colby thinks this is just fantastic! I could totally see him being a fighter pilot one day!
Just hanging out! Notice I said nothing about the game itself (UGH!). Regardless of the outcome, it was good to be at Kyle Field!

1st day of 1st grade

Waking up on the first day of school! Mike tried to get a picture of Colby as he was waking up but when Mike went upstairs to his room, Colby was already out of bed and "relaxing" in his chair! He has an alarm clock and gets up all by himself each morning when it goes off. He also dresses himself (yes, there are mornings when I wish that he would let me lay out his clothes!) and most mornings will fix his own breakfast! He is such a big kid!
Colby insisted on an Under Armor shirt for the first day of school. Just another sign that he's growing up!
The traditional picture in front of his school!
Welcome to first grade, Colby!
Colby was a little timid as we entered his room at school but quietly sat down and was ready to have a good first day of school! He's super excited about all the fun things he will learn and can't wait to have homework - we'll see, since that starts this week!

It's official - Colby is a 1st grader!

On Friday afternoon we went to Colby's school so that we could meet his 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Stagg. Colby is super excited about starting school and can't wait for his first day tomorrow. He thinks his teacher is super cool because she has a very large rat snake named Spike in her classroom! Please pray that we don't have to take turns bringing the snake home to take care of him!!!

Good luck, Colby, on your first day as a 1st grader! We love you!

Colby & Carly's Lemonade Stand!

Colby and Carly Loe braved the very hot weather on Friday, August 22nd and had their very own lemonade stand. Traffic must have been flowing very well since they made $22.50! Way to go Colby and Carly!

Nana comes to visit

Mike's mom came to visit us on August 13-17. It was great having her here and we enjoyed seeing her. Hopefully it won't be long before we can see her again.

Holden loves her "girl"

Holden is still entirely in love with Kennedy. I was doing housework the other day and when I went to check on Holden, she was laying on top of Kennedy watching tv! Holden has started calling Kennedy "girl" and we lose count how many times she says "come 'er girl" in that shrill little voice!

Our little tennis star!

During the month of July, Holden and I took "Tiny Tennis". It a class for 3-5 year olds (and a parent, or ball boy!) to learn how to play tennis. Holden and I had fun picking out her cute tennis outfits because... if you look good, you play good!

Here's a few pictures I couldn't help but share!

Lake LBJ with the Kaiser's & Lockett's

July 10-14, 2008

We spent a long weekend at Horseshoe Bay with Curtis, Stephanie, Kristen, Connor, Bill, Anne, William, and Catherine. Lots of fun was had by all but the highlights had to be 1) Holden tubing for the first time 2) Colby learning to water ski, and 3) feeing the deer out of our hands! The Kaiser's are great at getting kids over their fears and really helping them learn how to have all kinds of fun on the water.

Here are a couple of pictures from all the fun!

Waiting to leave!

Colby, Connor, Catherine, and Kristen Unfortunately, it seemed like a tube ride wasn't officially over till one or more people cried! Luckily, everyone in this picture was ok!

Holden rode the tube with Mike or I but for a brief second, she did stay on the tube long enough for me to snap this picture! Yea!!! Colby is water skiing!!!
